Prison Boab Tree

The Boab Prison Tree is a large hollow Boab tree measuring 17.7 metres wide. It is said that it was used in the 1890’s as a temporary prison for Indigenous Australians travelling to Derby for sentencing.

Located near the town of Halls Creek, the China Wall is a natural rock formation which resembles a miniature version of the Great Wall of China. This amazing formation is believed to be part of the longest single fault of it’s type in the world and rises up to 6 metres from the earth.

Halls Creek

Halls Creek is located 683 kilometres from Broome and is the site of the first gold discovery in Western Australia. Briefly, Halls Creek experienced a gold rush attracting people from all over the world. However, after the highway was constructed the town was relocated. Now Old Halls Creek is a charming ghost town.

Windjana Gorge

One of the Kimberley’s most amazing gorges, carved out by the Lennard River. The walls of the gorge rise up to 100 metres high.

Geikie Gorge

Another spectacular gorge in the Kimberley, Geikie Gorge has towering weathered cliffs and an abundance of wildlife.

Bungle Bungles

The Bungle Bungle range was only recently discovered in 1983 by a film crew. It features spectacular beehive-like domes with orange and black stripes. The Bungle Bungle Range is an amazing geological landmark and one not to be missed.

The Pilbara Region

The Pilbara region in Western Australia stretches for over 500,000 square kilometres, dating back two billion years. You can witness countless Indigenous archaeological sites and rock paintings dating back as far as 30,000 years.

Known as the engine room of Australia, the Pilbara region features a huge mining industry in gas, salt, crude oil and iron ore. The natural landscapes of the Pilbara contain deep rocky canyons, untouched coral gardens and hundreds of white sandy islands.

Ningaloo Reef

Located half way up the coastline of Western Australia is a 260-kilometre-long coral reef packed with majestic creatures including the largest fish in the sea, the whale shark.
