Departing Broome after breakfast, we journey up the spectacular Dampier Peninsula, also known as ‘Dampier Land’. Largely Aboriginal-owned land, the Dampier is a delight for travellers seeking a Kimberley experience that is culturally rewarding in a beautiful environment. Travelling up the red ‘pindan’ 4WD track, learn about the peninsula’s fascinating place in Australia’s history from our guided commentary. Our first stop is the Beagle Bay Aboriginal Community, home of the Beagle Bay Church and its glimmering pearl shell altar, where we enjoy morning tea.

Travelling north to the remote One Arm Point Community, the perfect place to view the spectacular Buccaneer Archipelago and witness the huge tidal flows of the Kimberley we visit the Community’s aquaculture hatchery, complete with reef fish and trochus shell. Arriving at beautiful Cygnet Bay we join a fascinating Pearl Farm Tour where we learn about the world’s largest and most beautiful pearls that have been farmed in these pristine waters for generations by the family owned business. At stunning Cape Leveque we let the tyres down on the 4WD and drive along the beach to our secluded stop. Enjoy a swim, leisurely beach walk and view the famous red cliffs of Western Beach prior to our trip back along the track.

    • Luggage allowance is 12kg per person in a soft sided bag. Tours with included joining or departing scenic flights the maximum luggage limit is 10kg per person. One additional day bag is permitted per person.
    • Fleece & long trousers for cool evenings
    • BYO alcohol if staying at Kooljaman @ Cape Leveque or Mt Elizabeth Station only – all other premises are licensed

  • Departures and itineraries are subject to change, regional weather conditions & road closures: Indigenous communities & activities may be closed or cancelled with little notice due to cultural or other reasons
  • Minimum 2 Guests Maximum 8 Guests
  • Personal Travel Insurance covering medical / emergency / cancellation & loss is strongly recommended
  • Some itineraries involve some clambering over rocks, through water & walking on un-even ground. A reasonable level of fitness is advised however options can be arranged to suit most guests abilities.
  • All tours operated by 3rd parties are subject to that operator’s terms & conditions and availability. Changes & cancelations can occur with little notice
  • The Kimberley climate during our touring season coincides with ‘the Dry’. Generally the temperature ranges between 28-32º C during the day & may drop down to below 6º C during the night. It may be considerably warmer during September & October as ‘the Wet’ approaches.
